Literature Text

Cold and empty, vast and deep
Am I alone or do you merely sleep?

I sing pretty songs, with voice oh so strong
Never a reply do I hear what am I doing wrong?

I see others forming bonds, finding love, carrying on
So when will I find you? Before or after all else is gone?

I search and search, through currents fast and currents slow
Are you searching too? Perhaps somewhere far below?

You must be out there, somewhere I've yet to see
Singing your own song, are you calling out for me?

I've yet to find you, yet to hear your beautiful song
I know you're out there, know we've both been waiting so long

One day we'll find each other, we'll meet in the deep
And finally be able to share that heart stopping leap
Song for the 52 Hertz Whale.
