The Cannibal and His Daemon by LJ-Todd The Cannibal and His Daemon by LJ-Todd
Hannibal daemon!AU art.

Blurb about Hannibal Lecter and his Eurasian wolf daemon, Rasa:

Hannibal learned, at a young age, to ignore the way people would stare at Rasa. As the years went by he found it almost amusing the way they would stop and watch his daemon. It happened with everyone they met. All of them were so very predictable. Until he met Will Graham and his little mongoose daemon, Sorcha.

Will glanced, briefly, at Rasa before looking away almost dismissively. "Eurasian wolf," he muttered, gaze returning to the board holding the pictures of the Minasota Shrike's victims. "Rare. Very rare. Last reported one was during World War II. A Waffen SS officer."

Rasa blinked, watching as Will and Sorcha all but tuned out their presence. She looked up at Hannibal, golden eyes twinkling almost mischeviously. "He's certainly something," she rumbled, gaze going back to Will and Sorcha.

Neither have I but I liked the predatory nature the wolf represented, the wildness that Hannibal keeps buried deep beneath his charming exterior. Pretty to look at but extremely dangerous.

I can see him as a pack animal with how he has accepted Will and Abigail. But then again, look at what he did to Abigail...

Nice daemon series!

Firstly, thank you! :D

Secondly, sometimes pack animals turn on their own pack members. Sometimes because that member is weak, other times because they're sick or something about them isn't right. In the case of what Hannibal did to Abigail one could argue he saw her as weak and thus a threat to his pack so he eliminated the threat.
