The Agent and His Daemon by LJ-Todd The Agent and His Daemon by LJ-Todd
For my Avengers daemon!AU fic.

Blurb about Phil Coulson and his Adelie Penguin daemon, Kalithia:

Normally when Coulson went to the bridge, Kalithia would simply walk and stand beside him. Being a small penguin she tended to try and stay out of the way, just so things were easier for her human. But today she’d insisted on being picked up and placed in the chair in front of the computer station Coulson was working at. So while Coulson worked, Kalithia watched over the computer screens on either side of her.

She kept at this for nearly four hours before noticing something on Coulson’s monitor while he was discussing something with Agent Hill. Using her beak, she pressed a key and brought up the message. It hadn’t been meant for Coulson, though it was about him, and the computer must have automatically sent it and while normally she would have over looked such a small error the content of the message caused her tail feathers to stand up in outrage. No one, and she meant no one, spoke about her human as Agent Galloway had in this message to Agent Sharpe.

Letting out a furious squawk all while shouting Galloway and Sharpe’s names, causing the two agents to freeze and look towards her, she tapped another key, causing the message to display not only on the large monitors hanging overhead but ever computer screen in the room.

“Excuse me,” she squawked loudly, hopping up on the control panel and glaring daggers at the two agents who now were gapping. “But what is this fuckery?!”

"What is this fuckery" may now be my favorite phrase outside of Pratchett.

Do people who have more unusual deamons have harder times in life? I mean how could you move or work if you had a elephant or walrus deamon near you? Or do you design these pictures without the rule that a deamons cannot be seperated from its partner (except for witches).

I like to think that the bond shared between a person and their daemon is unique to each individual pair and that it changes to fit them as needed. Thus the space one pair can be separated may be greater or less than another pair.

As for the unusual daemons, like an elephant or walrus, I think the same thing applies. The bond would adapt to fit the needs of the person and the daemon, no matter the animal the daemon settled as.

:D I'm glad you approve of the daemon choice. It was a tough decision but I feel that the Adelie penguin really works.
