Luwin turned his gaze from Robb and Theon, the duo still muttering about war, to his daemon, perched upon the railing next to him. "They are merely young," he said with a small smile, looking back at the young Lords and easily seeing Ned and Brandon at that age. "They've still much to learn."

"Jon was the sensible one," Zusa retorted as she glared down at the two boys. "Only sensible one. And he ran to the Wall. Such a waste."

Luwin sighed. "Zusa..."

"He wouldn't be talking war. He wouldn't be concerned of battles that may never come. He would be focused on his duties to the North and its people. He would be focused on his little brothers and their wellbeing."

Again Luwin sighed. Zusa had never made it any secret which of their Lord's sons she favoured. Even when they'd been toddlers she had favoured Jon over Robb. He knew it had created more tension between Lady Stark and Jon but, deep down, Luwin shared his daemon's beliefs. Robb was a good lad, there was no denying it, but he was not truly a leader. Nor would he ever be. But Jon would have made an excellent Lord. Just as Brandon would have.</i>

Turning slowly, brushing his fingers over Zusa's feathers, Luwin smiled almost sadly. "Come, Zusa, we'd best see to the tasks Lord Robb asked us to tend to."

Zusa huffed but leapt up to his shoulder, perching there like she always did, grumbling the entire way inside about having to mind stupid boys when the good one had all but been chased away.
