He had worked at Arkham for years, working on making heightened chemical compounds, before being contacted by a representative of the League of Shadows. Weaponizing their special little flowers had been child's play. Using it on some of his patients, and a few who weren't his, was just him being thorough. He didn't want to supply a product that didn't work properly.
When he began donning the mask, just to heighten the effects of the chemicals, Gitte had laughed and shook her head.
"You...look...HA...like...HA HA...a moron!" She cackled for some time, at least until the first patient had started screaming and snatched up the pen he'd forgotten on the table and stabbed out his own eyes, killing himself. Then, then she became serious. Her eager, morbid fascination mingling with his own.
"We should try another," she said quietly in his ear as they walked down the corridor, the coroner taking the patient's now lifeless body away. "Just to make certain that wasn't a fluke."
Jonathan's smile was warped. "You know, Gitte, I rather like the way your mind thinks."
