He hated leaving Tyrion's service. The man had been a good friend. But he rather liked living and knew if he didn't leave he'd be joining a long line of dead folk. So he bid his friend goodbye, knowing they'd never see each other again, and left. Keaira crawled up his chest as he walked, perching lightly upon his shoulder, looking at him with those big dark eyes.

"We should have stood by him. Like Pod."

"Oh, aye, and ended up dead just like that boy will." Bronn shook his head and kept walking. "I don't think so, Keaira."

Keaira sighed and tucked her wings a little closer to her body. "Tyrion is our friend..."

"And he'll be our dead friend before too long." He shook his head again. "We'll mourn him and that'll be the end of it. I'd rather be alive to remember him than meet him in whichever of the Seven Hells we end up in."

His daemon said nothing else on the subject and weeks later, when they heard word that Tyrion had escaped the city and killed his father in the process they both laughed and Bronn raised a goblet of wine, wishing his friend the best of luck wherever he was.
