Made it Through the Rain - Ch07It was bright and sunny the afternoon of the funeral.Made it Through the Rain - Ch07 by LJ-Todd
And, to Jon, that felt more wrong than the fact that they were burying his mother and uncle. Burying them because an idiot teenager had gotten drunk at a party and decided it was a good idea to try and drive home.
It shouldn't be a nice day.
It shouldn't look so peaceful.
It should be as grey and miserable as he felt.
Standing in the cemetery, surrounded by family and friends, Jon tried to feel something other than the crushing weight of his grief. Sarella had come with him and was tucked against his side, her arm wrapped around his waist while his own arm was around her shoulders. He was thankful for her presence because he wasn't certain how he'd deal with all of it otherwise. She was his rock, she was what was keeping him grounded, keeping him from just breaking down during the funeral.
As the preacher gave the service, saying all the pretty, flowery words that Jon was coming to loath, he noticed Aunt Catelyn saying something to
Made it Through the Rain - Ch06A few weeks later, after countless shifts at The Wall and two, thankfully, uneventful dinners at the Targaryen home, Jon walked into the house feeling both worn out and on edge.Made it Through the Rain - Ch06 by LJ-Todd
He was worn out form yet another long shift at the pub but on edge because of what he wanted to tell his mother and uncle. He heard them in the kitchen, heard his mother snapping at Brandon to get his fingers out of the bowl and he smiled despite his nerves. Drawing a deep breath he headed into the kitchen, finding his mother making potato salad while Brandon was clearly trying to sneak some of it right from the mixing bowl.
"Stop it," Lyanna snapped again, smacking at Brandon's hand with her spoon, before smiling over at Jon. "Hey, pup, how was work?"
"Long." He collapsed into a chair at the table, slumping forward, arms folded on the top even as he let his chin rest atop his arms. "So...umm...I kind of wanted to talk to you about something."
Lyanna's smile faltered slightly even as Brandon huffed, grin
Made it Through the Rain - Ch05Jon sat, rather hunched down in his seat, hands wrapped around a mug of coffee. His mother had dropped him off ten minutes earlier and told him, not for the first time in the last three months, that she'd be back in an hour to pick him up. He hated it. Hated that, every Thursday, he was forced to sit in a coffee shop, for an hour, with his so called father.Made it Through the Rain - Ch05 by LJ-Todd
Rhaegar sat across from him, his own coffee untouched, dressed meticulously and looking every bit the sharp businessman.
They never spoke, not really. Rhaegar had tried, the first few times, to start a conversation but Jon never responded, just sat there and waited out the hour until his mother showed back up to fetch him. After that the man would sit quietly and just watch him.
Today though felt different.
Weeks of silence between them, when before Rhaegar had tried to build a bridge, had tried to verbally reach out to him, had Jon antsy and, despite his claims to not care about Rhaegar, to not want anything to do with the man, he
Made it Through the Rain - Ch04Brandon was sitting at the end of the bar, nursing his second pint, when the most unexpected thing happened. Rhaegar Targaryen, the prat who'd gotten his baby sister knocked up and then never had anything to do with his child or Lya again, walked into the pub, sitting just at the other end of the bar. Knowing it was a bad idea, especially since every time he went near Rhaegar he ended up in lockup or jail, he stood and moved down the bar until he dropped down onto the stool next to Rhaegar.Made it Through the Rain - Ch04 by LJ-Todd
"Think we need to talk, mate," he said as Rhaegar looked at him, those sharp violet eyes narrowing at him, clearly expecting his usual brand of shit. "About the last brawl your boys got into."
Rhaegar frowned as the bartender brought him a beer. "I don't know what you are..."
"I had to bandage my nephew up this last time. Your precious Aegon shoved him against a fence and tore Jon's shoulder open." Brandon took a sip of his beer. "I'm getting sick of every time I turn around that boy's got new bruis
Art has always been a part of my life. When I was little I sat and watched my uncle draw an eagle, with a black Sharpie, on the back of his kitchen door. That was all the inspiration I needed and I've never looked back.|

The world has lost a brilliant, vibrant soul.
Leonard Nimoy has passed away and I'm feeling the sort of emotional hurt that I haven't felt since Andy Whitfield passed. I'm just going to go and have a Star Trek marathon or something just to try and get through this hurt.
Live love and prosper, Mr Nimoy, you may be gone but you will live on in our hearts and in our memories.
